It seems that LXLE Linux is making a valiant attempt to emulate the Windows “autoplay” functionality for audio CDs and video DVDs, but encountering some “gotchas” in the process. Relieved that it wasn't something I caused or unique to my configuration here, but sorry to add another item to your follow-up list. That sequence of events is a little different that what happens in Windows, and may cause some confusion among those trying to make the transition.Īm I doing something wrong, or is that the way it's supposed to work? #Ripit does not see my disc movie#In every case, both the DVD using Movie Player and even the CD using VLC, playback would not start without going into each app's menu to make further adjustments, and only then would playback start. ![]() ![]() My optical player drive is a Lite-On DVD-ROM, which has been working OK. Had to install VLC player to get the CD to play. Not sure why Brasero is presented as a player option in either case, but could never get a CD to play as configured. Separately, inserting a purchased DVD also showed the same two choices in the pop-up window, but also added "Movie Player" as a third option (which worked). Opened the Guayadeque app manually, but could not get Guayadeque to recognize the CD. Brasero is a burning app, not a player, and File Manager is not a music player either. When CD inserted, pop-up window says to choose between "Brasero" and "Open in File Manager". Having a problem trying to play a purchased CD. Love the changes and features and the elegant look, especially with all the new background images. ![]()
